eGovernment Portal Print E-mail
In general, the e-Government Portal will serve as a universal access point to the Philippine Government. As a one-stop source for electronic delivery of information and frontline services to the general public, the e-Government Portal will enable citizens and businesses to find comprehensive information and request services without needing to know which agencies provide the particular service and information.

The project will therefore focus on integrating government business processes to come up with a common business framework. This framework will be the basis for the development and establishment of an e-Government Portal. The e-Government Portal will be a virtual source of all government information and services - non-revenue and revenue generating services with e-payment gateway, which will handle the payment transactions in government. It will also create different channels for which the government and general public can interact anytime and anywhere.

Objective

The development of the portal will be guided by the following objectives:

To design and establish a true citizen-centric, business friendly, and frontline-service focused e-Government portal that will consolidate all government agencies information and e-services in a single site that is easy to find and access;

To provide a single entry point for accessing government information and e-services that would facilitate efficient interface between the citizen and the government 24 x 7;

To make it more convenient and easier for the general public to transact electronically and do business with the government rather than having to go to the agency;

To promote transparency and reduce corruption in all government transaction;

To set up an infrastructure that will deliver fast government information and e-services to the public (even) in the remote areas;

To facilitate the transformation of the existing government into an e-Government.
