International Computer Driving License Print E-mail

The CICT, through the HCDG, is the first accredited International Computer Driving License (ICDL) test center in the Philippines.

The ICDL is a qualification that certifies a standard level of skills for users of personal computers (PCs). It is a computer users certificate for all citizens. The ICDL certificate demonstrates that the holder has attained a recognized level of knowledge and competence in personal computer use.

The ICDL is an internationally recognized ICT skills certification, suitable for all ages from every work discipline. It is supported by many international and national agencies and companies. And it operates independently of all personal computer software vendors, therefore, it is not vendor-specific.

The ICDL provides organizations with an innovative and tangible method of measuring ICT skills; a model for education and training in the information society, and; an excellent benchmark of employee skills. Likewise, it provides individuals with improved employee confidence and enhanced career opportunities; a proof that one possesses basic ICT skills; a flexible and accessible certification that offers increased mobility, and; a solid foundation to allow confident use of a PC.

The ICDL syllabus contains seven (7) modules that cover the main aspects of PC usage. These modules are:

  • Basic concepts of ICT
  • Using the computer and managing files
  • Word Processing
  • Spreadsheets
  • Database
  • Presentation
  • Information and Communication
